ANSWERS TO FREQUENTLY ASKED RANGE QUESTIONS

THE OUTDOOR RANGE is set up like it is for tournament throwing, we have separate lanes where one thrower throws at a time at 3 separate targets, there will also be a side area for mountain man style throwing with it's targets. we will have all the implements for you to throw here and you can also throw your own, knife throwing and knives must be approved first.
We all throw from the same distance unless there is a lane between you and your told it is ok as there should be noone in front of you when you throw on any lane.
NOONE GOES TO THE TARGET UNTIL EVERYONE IS DONE THROWING since there is no fence between lanes outside we are extra careful about throwing.
A cool ADVANTAGE of outdoor throwing is you will learn to throw from more than one distance with hawks/axes and even knives if approved!

THE INDOOR RANGE (not open yet)will be set up with several lanes of targets and each lane is separated by a protective chain link fence.
The targets are affixed to the back wall so there is nowhere for anyone to walk behind the targets.
Each lane is setup with 2 target areas for two players to throw at a time, either in sync or separately.
There is a separated walk way and seating area for the other players or their guests to sit and watch.

Throw together walk together!

This means that you are not allowed to retrieve your axe/hawk until both people in your lane have thrown and are ready to retrieve. When there is only 1 person throwing in the lane they are of course allowed to retrieve when ready.
You NEVER THROW if someone is at the targets in your lane,EVER!.
The main rule is we throw together and walk together in each lane not all lanes.
Each lane next is separated with a protective fence so nothing can come through and hit you while getting your hawks or axes.

Almost every single axe and throwing range out there in the world is setup with this same simple plan because it keeps everyone safe while still being able to have fun. Tournament ranges are different because they have no fence and are usually outdoors. They are run with the same very strict rule of no live edged knife, throw together, walk together and there has never been an incident that I know of since the 1970’s with an event.
